Enrollment for the 2008/2009 school year at St. John the Baptist Catholic School is 262 students.  We offer classes from 3 year-old early childhood through 8th Grade.  Our staff is dedicated to teaching and working in a Christian environment emphasizing smaller class sizes and attention to the individual student.

 

School Registration

Children of all races and creeds are welcome to attend St. John the Baptist School, but preference in placement will be shown to children of families who are members of St. John the Baptist Parish. Please contact the school office for more registration info at (920) 893-5961.

 

Tuition Assistance Programs

A Catholic education will not be denied a child due to financial problems. The Grant-in-Aid program offered by the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, the St. Vincent de Paul Tuition Assistance Program and the SJB Angel Fund are available to families in need of assistance. Registration Dates

Registration will be held in the spring.  Specific dates will be announced in the church bulletin and on the monthly school calendar.   An open house is held for parents and students approximately one week before school resumes. Parents and students can meet teachers, ask questions, and drop off school supplies at the open house.

Non-Catholic Students

Children of non-Catholic religions wishing to attend St. John the Baptist School will be expected to take part in the religious, as well as the academic aspects of the curriculum.  All children will be expected to participate in the liturgies, religion classes, and the sacramental instruction as it pertains to his or her grade.

 

Class Size Policy

St. John the Baptist Catholic School’s Teacher-Pupil ratios is kept within the guidelines as determined by research findings and the availability of sufficient resources.
The projected Teacher-Pupil ratio is approximately 1 to 24 including only (Grades 1-8)* regular classroom teachers and teacher aides (educational assistants) at the ratio of three (3) educational assistants as the equivalent of one (1) teacher.


SJB Class Size Guidelines

  • Early Childhood:  Fewer than 20 students*
  • Kindergarten:  Fewer than 24 students*
  • Grades 1 – 2:  Fewer than 19 students
  • Grades 3 – 5:  Fewer than 26 student
  • Grades 6 – 8:  Fewer than 31 students


* Consideration will be given to the assignment of a teacher aide when the number of students assigned to the Early Childhood and/or Kindergarten classes reaches 16 -18 students or above.
